Requirement:

  1. Overview

The Skilled Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer. This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa. It also allows you to work in UK waters.

  1. Your job

Your job must be on the list of eligible occupations. You can find the list of eligible occupations on the GOV.UK website.

  1. When you can be paid less

There are a few cases where you may be able to be paid less than the minimum salary for your job. These cases include:

  • If you are a recent graduate and have less than 12 months of relevant work experience.
  • If you are working in a shortage occupation.
  • If you are working for a small business with fewer than 50 employees.
  1. If you work in healthcare or education

If you work in healthcare or education, you may need to meet additional requirements. These requirements may include having a criminal record check or a health check.

  1. Knowledge of English

You must have a good level of English in order to get a Skilled Worker visa. You can prove your English level by taking an approved English language test.

  1. Documents you’ll need to apply
